Terms of Service

Effective 22 October 2026

In short: use DesignMyMac to make your Mac yours, keep it lawful, and remember it changes how your Mac looks only after you approve — with a Restore to put things back.

These terms are an agreement between you and DesignMyMac ("DesignMyMac", "we", "us") for your use of the DesignMyMac app for macOS, the Studio at designmymac.com/studio, and the website designmymac.com (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Your account

You must be 18 or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for activity under your account.

What the Service does to your Mac

DesignMyMac can change your wallpaper, folder and app icons, the Dock, widgets, window styling and appearance settings. It only applies changes after you review and approve them, saves your originals first, and offers Restore to undo them. macOS or other apps may reset some changes (for example after an app update), and some items may be protected by macOS and stay unchanged. Keep regular backups of your Mac, as you would with any software.

Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

Your content and AI creations

You keep ownership of what you provide — your descriptions, reference images and links. You give us permission to use them only to run and improve the Service for you. As between you and us, you own the designs and images the Service creates for you, and you may use them for any lawful purpose. AI output can be imperfect, similar to output created for others, or not protectable by copyright in every country; you're responsible for how you use it.

Fair use and availability

To keep the Service fast and affordable, we may set daily limits on AI requests and change them over time. We may add, change or remove features, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable.

Our property

The Service, including the app, website, built-in themes, icons and the DesignMyMac name, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Service; they don't transfer any ownership. Apple, Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc.; DesignMyMac is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.

Third-party services

Widgets and features may show information from other services (such as weather, news feeds, cryptocurrency prices or GitHub). We aren't responsible for that information or those services.

Ending use

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or to protect the Service or others. Before you uninstall the app, use Restore if you want your previous look back.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We don't promise it will be error-free or that every change will apply on every Mac.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, DesignMyMac won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 1,000 if you haven't paid us. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post changes here and update the effective date; significant changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction, without taking away any consumer protections you have where you live.
